Changes in the 343 and 613 Area Codes in 2022 - Introducing a New Area Code 753

In order to meet the growing demand for telecommunication services and phone numbers, a new area code is being introduced in the geographic area currently served by the 343 and 613 area codes.

On March 26, 2022, a new area code will be introduced in Ontario. The new area code, 753, will co-exist with the 343 and 613 area codes. There will be no change to existing 343 and 613 telephone numbers.

Please be advised that the introduction of the new 753 area code will not change local and long distance calling areas and prices. All customers with new 753 area code phone numbers will retain the same calling areas and prices as those in the 343 and 613 area codes.

Important Information

• You will not be required to change your existing telephone number
• Only new telephone numbers issued after the effective dates are affected by the new area codes
• Local calling areas remain the same
• The 9-1-1 emergency number remains a three-digit number throughout the areas
